Meet our Staff

Erica Yglesias (sunshine pumper) realized she was on the wrong path while walking through the student union at SLU. She decided that epic day in 2003 that she would pursue a career in hair and hasn’t looked back since.  Her genuine love of art and beauty  propelled her to enroll in Aveda Institute where she graduated in 2004.  Erica worked downtown at a Paul Mitchell focus salon for over 6 years and mentored under Laura Souter. In 2007 she became a Paul Mitchell Educator specializing in teaching men’s hair cutting. She has a true passion for men’s grooming, and even has her barbers license! Erica aspires to be the best stylist on this side of the Mississippi. With the determination of a Taurian bull she decided to take a leap into salon ownership in 2011. Erica loves being a business owner and her Mod squad. This magical, hilarious woman still employs her artistry in a very down to earth manner. With her vivacious spirit, Erica is the perfect drum major for Mod Salon. Fun facts about Erica:  she is a third generation hairdresser, she is left handed, loves Louisiana festivals and bearded men.

*Erica is unable to accept new clients at the moment, because her loyal clientele keep her consistently booked!

No one pays more attention to order and detail than this Paul Mitchell homegrown Virgo.  Ashley Brice began her career mastering the art of haircutting with a mentor on the North shore.  She graduated beauty school in 2010 and has attended trainings all over the country to elevate and enrich her technique. Ashley is a National Color Educator and is not afraid to add a little life into the formula/mix. She knew she wanted to do hair since the 2nd grade after convincing her friend that her horse’s tail needed layers, and in high school she worked in her aunt’s beauty shop helping however she could. Ashley enjoys submitting her own jokes into Laffy Taffy during her spare moments, as well as exploring the state, one festival at a time.

4Jade Robinson, the warm hearted people pleaser, has been with the squad since October 2014. Having always been a MODster at heart, she is ecstatic to call Mod Salon home.  This 90’s baby is a graduate of Paul Mitchell The School and has 5 years of experience under her tool belt.  Jade has an intuitive sense when it comes to the latest trends.  She knows what is new, hot and which ones are kaput!  Jade, sometimes known as Fade, enjoys Mod men’s grooming  as well.  After work hours she likes to kickbox and karaoke.  Her favorite song to sing is Papa Don’t Preach by Madonna.  Inside scoop: Jade is a blowout magician.  She’s so good, it’s like visiting a blowout bar all in the comfort of her salon chair.

Kelsey is a graduate from the Aveda Institute’s Masters Program. She is a mother, a crafter, a pretend chef…oh, and a licensed cosmetologist! Kelsey adores all things hair, all things food, and all things education. She is a self-titled “Google Queen,” always wanting to learn more about anything and everything. Kelsey is passionate about giving her clients a haircut they will love. Few things bring her more joy than cutting a perfectly-shaped bob! She also loves deep conditioning treatments, so schedule an appointment with her and let her get your hair back to tip-top shape!

Trang Nguyen is a graduate from Paul Mitchell The School and took a detour into the medical field for a time before returning to the world of hair. She joined the Mod Squad in May of 2016 and we’re so glad she did! This New Orleans native isn’t just great at women’s haircuts–she rocks a men’s cut, too! She even has her Barber’s license, and is a whiz in the wax room. Need a flawless blowout before your next event? Trang’s your gal! Park Avenue Blow Out Balm by R+Co is her fave. In her free time, she’s a foodie who loves extreme couponing and wants to see the world.

gabs copyIntroducing our youngest member of the Mod Squad, Gabrielle Vigueira. She may only have a whopping 21 years of life experience, but this part-time MODster is an old soul at heart. Originally from Mandeville, Gabi came to Baton Rouge in 2013 and is currently attending LSU in the Communication Studies and Film and Media Arts programs. She’s a curly-haired music enthusiast with a thing for sushi, show tunes, and foreign films. Her hobbies include painting, playing the ukulele, and changing her major. If you call Mod in the afternoon, you’ll most likely hear Gabi’s voice on the other end. She can’t wait to chat with you!
